Reach Your Goals

Greetings! We are almost through 2006, and Summer is officially over.

What have you done?

What are you going to do?

We talked at the beginning of the year about the importance of setting goals and moving toward them.

What were your goals?

Are they different now?

Are you moving toward them?

Have you accomplished some of them?

Let's take some time, right now, to look at where you stand in relation to your goals. First of all, if you do not have any goals for this year, take a couple of minutes now and write some down. If you have goals, take a couple of minutes and see where you stand...here's how...

1. List your 2006 goals (the goals you want to reach by the end of 2006). There may be 3 goals, there may be 100 goals, there may only be one goal...list them, no matter how many or few.

2. Check off the ones you have already accomplished and give yourself a big pat on the back for reaching them. If you haven't reached any yet, smile, because you are going to reach them easily...and that's exciting.

3. Create an action plan for reaching them. This can consist of a list of to-do's for each one, or you can simply write "Do this" for each goal (it depends on how many parts comprise the goal.)

4. Decide right now that you are dedicated to reaching each goal.

5. Reach them.

Sound too simple? Living an outstanding life is VERY simple. Accomplishing all of your goals is easy. It is simply a matter of giving yourself permission to do so. Next month we will discuss the number-one culprit that slows people down...sabotage. In the meantime, do the easy exercise above and get some midyear momentum going. Next month we are going to deal with any problems that may arise in the process...so, do your homework and next month we will take it to the next level.

Have a very relaxing September.
